Barcelona have brought in €23 million from offloading fringe players and cashing in on contract clauses
At a time when Barcelona are facing ongoing financial challenges, the club is leaning heavily on player sales as a key source of income.
Although they haven’t pulled off any major high-profile departures so far this summer, offloading fringe players and receiving payments from past transfer agreements have helped keep the cash flow steady.
According to a recent report from Diario SPORT, Barça have already brought in around €23 million this summer through the sale of non-essential squad members and payouts triggered by clauses in previous deals.
Details of Barcelona’s €23 million inflow this summer
Barcelona have quietly benefited from a series of smart contractual clauses this summer. These included €1.75 million from Ludovit Reis’ transfer to Club Brugge, €600,000 from Ilaix Moriba’s move to Celta Vigo, and €500,000 following Álex Collado’s switch to Al-Shamal.
Altogether, these minor sales and windfall bonuses have brought in €23 million—an important injection of funds for a club still navigating financial turbulence.
On the spending side, Barça’s summer outlay currently stands at €28 million, leaving them with a relatively modest net deficit of €5 million.
However, if the club hopes to return to La Liga’s 1:1 spending rule and continue strengthening the squad, further player sales will be essential in the coming weeks.
